You can't afford the payments on your home. Your efforts to get your mortgage modified are going nowhere. You may even have tried to sell the home for less than what you owe, but the short sale fell through. Now you face some grim options. New Oregon state website offers foreclosure advice
A new Oregon state website offers help and advice to homeowners facing foreclosure. It offers information about the process, links to foreclosure prevention programs, and it includes a search too for users to enter their ZIP code to locate a counselor. (Click here)
The Statesman Journal reports the website and counseling was funded in May by the Legislature, which appropriated nearly $4 million from a national settlement with loan servicers.
The website is sponsored by Oregon Housing and Community Services, the Department of Consumer and Business Services, and the Department of Justice.
